About us
Mr. Padparadscha Gemstone Jewellery is a Sri Lankan fine gemstone house led by Managing Director Farshadh Ikthiyar, built on a family gem heritage since 1998, and based at 249, Old Road, Mahagoda, Beruwala 12070, Sri Lanka. We work within the gem trade regulations of Sri Lanka, overseen by the National Gem and Jewellery Authority (NGJA).
Our gemstones
- We sell natural gemstones only. We do not sell synthetic or imitation stones.
- Every listing states the treatment: unheated, no heat or heated. Heating means traditional heating used to improve colour and clarity, and we always disclose it.
- The origin, weight, colour and clarity of each stone are stated in its listing.
Photos, videos & descriptions
- The gem pictures on this website are illustrations of each stone's colour and cut. The real stone is shown in the daylight video we send you.
- Colour can look different from one screen or light to another. Please judge a stone from its daylight video and lab report.
- Carat weights are given to two decimal places. Exact dimensions are provided on request and appear on the lab report.
Certificates
- Lab reports from EGL, GRS, SSEF and GIA are available on request.
- If a stone needs a new report, the laboratory, cost and timing are agreed with you before the report is ordered.
- A lab report is the independent opinion of the laboratory that issued it.
Prices, orders & payment
- Stones can sell at any time, so availability is confirmed in writing before you pay.
- Prices are quoted on request. The price, currency, payment method and any reservation deposit are agreed in writing before payment.
- An order is confirmed once we have confirmed it in writing and received payment. Ownership passes to you when payment is received in full.
- Payments from abroad are received through regulated banking channels, as Sri Lankan foreign exchange rules require.
Shipping & customs
- We ship worldwide with tracking, and send you the tracking number when your parcel leaves.
- Delivery times are estimates. Recent tracked parcels arrived in about one to two weeks, depending on the destination and customs.
- Gem exports from Sri Lanka follow NGJA export procedures.
- Import duties, taxes and customs charges in your country are set by your country's authorities. Who pays them is agreed with you before shipping.
Inspection & returns
- Please inspect your stone as soon as it arrives and contact us straight away if anything is not as described.
- The return period, the condition a stone must be returned in, and how refunds are paid are confirmed in writing with each sale, before payment.
- Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the consumer protection laws of Sri Lanka.
Bespoke jewellery
- We create custom pieces in gold, silver and brass around the stone you choose.
- The design, metal, price and timeline are confirmed with your quote before work starts.
- Because each piece is made to order, the cancellation and refund terms for custom work are also confirmed with your quote.
Heating services
- We offer gemstone heating as a service to the trade.
- Heating can change a stone's colour and clarity, and results vary from stone to stone, so they cannot be guaranteed.
- The terms of each heating job are agreed in writing before work begins.
Privacy
- We use your name, contact details and delivery address only to answer your enquiries, complete your order and ship your parcel.
- Your delivery details are shared with the courier for shipping. We do not sell your information.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time, in line with Sri Lanka's Personal Data Protection Act.
Liability & governing law
- We are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, customs or other events outside our control.
- These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and any dispute will be handled by the courts of Sri Lanka.
- We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page on the day you order is the one that applies.
