Our Story
Mr. Padparadscha Gemstone Jewellery is a Sri Lankan fine gemstone house specialising in natural sapphires, padparadscha sapphires, garnets, spinels, aquamarines, chrysoberyls and other exceptional gemstones of the highest calibre.
We obtain rough and semi-polished crystals directly from mines in Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Madagascar and other celebrated gemstone-producing regions. Each stone is then carefully cut and polished by our skilled artisans to reveal its full natural beauty and brilliance.
We take great pride in our expertise as gemstone cutters and craftsmen. Every stone is selected with precision and, where available, certified by reputable gemological laboratories across Sri Lanka, Thailand, China, Europe and the United States.
A family heritage · two generations
Mr. Padparadscha is built on a rich family heritage spanning two generations. Our founder, Al-Haj N.H.M. Ikthiyar, began exporting sapphires to Thailand in 1998. His lifelong passion for gemstones — particularly the rare and luminous padparadscha sapphire — laid the foundation for the legacy we proudly carry forward today.
The company is now led by Farshadh Ikthiyar, Managing Director of Mr. Padparadscha Gemstone Jewellery, who continues the family tradition by personally sourcing, cutting, marketing and supplying exceptional gemstones to collectors and jewellers worldwide.
Our padparadscha (padmaraga) sapphires are sourced directly from mining operations in Ilakaka, Madagascar, and the storied mines of Ceylon, Sri Lanka — ensuring full authenticity and traceability from source to customer.
